Here is my brother, Jax (this was taken on our first birthday. We didn't really celebrate our birthdays this year. My people-mom says I got too many toys at Christmas. She did make a doggy cake, though. I tried to share it with the cats but they didn't want any. She sent the recipe to my grandma, too, and grandma made a cake for Jax, as well).
He was named after a daytime t.v. soap opera character. Sure, my people-mom came up with lots of good names, but my grandma didn't take to any of them. Grandma's reasoning was that Jax was half Australian Shepherd and the guy on the soap opera whose name was Jasper Jax was an Australian actor so...why not. It wasn't because of a celebrity crush or anything. And grandma insists it's short for "Jackson" which encompasses her father, Jack's, name.
It's a blessing, really, because there was a brief time where my people-mom's sister, Jamie, was considering taking Jax home with her. And she announced to everybody that if he were hers she was going to call him "Bonanza".
We are still puzzling over that one. Can you imagine calling a dog, yelling after him: "Heeeere, Bonanza! Come, Bonanza!"
What a mouthful! We still don't know what she was thinking when she divulged that bit of information.

But you could shorten it to "Nanza", how cool is that?!
That picture's so cool like he's gonna throw up from eating to much cake but he doesn't care 'cause it's his birthday!
Oh, that's clever!
I think that Kyra might have named our next dog. She went to bed with a stuffed dog tonight that she got from her teachers for Valentine's Day. She said it's a girl and her name is "Winnie". Hmmmmmm.....
How cute!
